The Area
Trailblazer Studios is perfectly placed to make the most of your time in Waihi. We’re just a 5-minute stroll from the town centre where you can visit cafés, shops, and restaurants. You’ll also find adventure on your doorstep, with the Martha Mine, an open-cast goldmine, the Gold Discovery Centre. Hauraki Rail Trail, Karangahake Gorge, and Goldfields Railway all nearby.

The Gold Discovery Centre is the hub for visitor activities and 'all things gold' in Waihi.
Goldfields Railway
Travel back in time and enjoy a ride on a heritage train with Goldfields Railway. Journey between Waihi and Waikino at the eastern end of the spectacular Karangahake Gorge.
Hauraki Rail Trail
Follow the Ohinemuri River through the Karangahake Gorge from Waihi to Paeroa. Stop at the Owharoa Falls, gold mining sites, the Victoria Battery and Museum.
Victoria Battery, Tramway and Museum
Tramway rides, museum and guided tours through the underground roasting ore kilns’ tunnel.
